Guidelines on Number of Abstracts Submitted
The general "rules" to be followed in acceptance of abstracts are as follows:
1) No abstract will be accepted for publication in the program book without a confirmed paid registration fee. As in the past, there will be no exceptions to this rule.
2) The number of oral presentations will generally be limited to one talk per registered person with a second talk being assigned only in cases where a second talk is necessary to "fill in" or "round out" a specific subject area.
3) The selection of abstracts for oral presentation will depend in part on the material submitted but will also depend on the academic or industrial position of the presenter. Generally professors and directors of laboratories will be given top priority and this will be followed by senior scientists or postdocs. Students will not be selected to give oral contributions and should consider instead a presentation in the form of a poster.
4) The number of poster abstracts accepted will be limited to a maximum of two posters per meeting attendee. Thus, two people from the same lab can present four papers or three people from the same lab can present six papers. Having said the above, it should be pointed out that each poster presented must have someone present at the poster session and this means that two posters from one individual will probably be scheduled on two separate nights.
