Steps for Requiring a Visa to Attend ICPP-5
(Required for almost all participants from outside of Russia)

Dear Colleagues

The message below is intended for the 400 or so ICPP-5 participants from outside of Russia who need a visa to enter the country. The process is simple but could be time-consuming and you should begin the application process as soon as possible if you have not already done so.

You need to do the following:

1) Go to the Russian website below

and then select accomodation
http://www.icpp5.ru/?page=accommodation

In the middle of the page is the ON-LINE BOOKING link

2) Here you need to get a new ID and Password which is different from the meeting registration password.

3) Complete the registration page with your personal information (accompanying people must also register).

4) Book a hotel accommodation on your personal page in the section HOTEL RESERVATION and other services offered by Monomax and pay at least one night hotel.

5) Finally, fill in the VISA SUPPORT form on your personal page which you can access using your own ID and PASSWORD. You need to decide your entry and departure date from Russia, list any places you might want to visit during your time in the country and provide your passport number. Request a visa which is good for the full time of the meeting (see below) plus any other days before or after if you anticipate some time for tourism.

6) Note that the meeting will end at 6 pm on Friday night, after a full day of science. Thus most people would anticipate a departure on Saturday July 12 and an arrival on either the Saturday or Sunday before depending on your flights.

7) Note also that the tourist voucher you will receive from Momomax is not a visa. To obtain the visa you should take your passport and tourist voucher to the nearest Russian Consulate and pay the Consulate dues.

8) Finally, note that the visa would originally not be issued until after 100% prepayment of hotel but, for those who cannot do this before getting the visa and airplane tickets, the option of a one-night prepayment is now available via ON-LINE BOOKING SYSTEM. After getting the visa, the full accommodation should be paid.
