Grants and Awards

Selection of 2016 SPP/JPP and John Shelnutt Young Investigator Award Winners

The Call for Nominations is now open for SPP/JPP Young Investigator Awards and John Shelnutt Young Investigator Awards in 2016.

Although not absolutely required, individuals with an independent and permanent academic position will be given the highest consideration, all other factors being equal. At the same time postocs, no matter how talented or productive they be, will be given the lowest priority consideration by virtue of their non-independent position.

Registration Assistance Grants

Effective immediately, the Society of Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines (SPP) and World Scientific Publishing Company (WSPC) will be offering registration grant vouchers to SPP members who purchase or successfully recommend a library purchase of the Handbook of Porphyrin Science or a new Institutional subscription to JPP between the dates of May 15, 2015 and May 31, 2016.

There is no limit on the number of vouchers earned which have a cash value of $75 to $350 each and can be redeemed and used as described at the link below.

Student Assistance Grants

A limited number of Student Assistance Grants will be awarded to student attendees of the meeting. The cash amount of the award has yet to be determined but will probably range from $100 to $250 depending on the number of applicants and the total funds received from our sponsors for the purpose of assisting students.

Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2016, with funding of the grants to the selected individuals being provided as a cash distribution at the meeting.

Details on the application process can be obtained at the link below
